The Shed is operated by Cognizant Schools & Ventures Ltd. ("The Shed," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through The Shed's website and platform ("SHED OS"), why we collect it, and how members can control it.

Information we collect

When you create an account and Opportunity Passport, we collect:

Information we do not collect

We deliberately do not ask for or store:

We collect only what helps connect members to opportunities, mentors, and each other, and what's needed to confirm bookings and payments.

How we use your information

Signing in with LinkedIn

If you choose to sign up or sign in using LinkedIn, LinkedIn shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us via OpenID Connect. LinkedIn does not share your public profile URL through this login — if you want that shown on your Shed profile, you add it yourself, and it's entirely optional.

Payments

Depending on how you pay, your booking may be processed via Mobile Money (with a transaction reference you provide, confirmed manually by our team) or, once available, via Flutterwave's secure hosted checkout. We do not store your card details or Mobile Money PIN — these are handled directly by your mobile network operator or by Flutterwave, not by The Shed.

Your control over your information

Data storage

Your information is stored using Supabase, with access controls (Row Level Security) that restrict most data to you and, where relevant, our administrators.

Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to cognizant.ventures.2025@gmail.com.

This policy describes our current practices as a new platform and will be updated as The Shed grows. It is not a substitute for legal advice specific to your jurisdiction — we'd recommend a legal review as the platform scales.
