Dr. Esperance Munganyinka is a research and innovation leader with over 17 years of experience in biotechnology, plant breeding, molecular plant virology, and research management, driving science, technology, and innovation for sustainable socio-economic development. She currently serves as Head of the National Research and Innovation Fund at the Rwanda National Council for Science and Technology, where she leads national research funding, innovation policy implementation, strategic partnerships, and research capacity strengthening. Throughout her career, she has successfully mobilized and managed major national and international research grants, led multidisciplinary research programs, and collaborated with governments, development partners, research institutions, academia, and the private sector to advance research excellence and innovation across Rwanda and Africa. Dr. Munganyinka holds a PhD in Plant Health Science and Management, has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, and is widely recognized for her contributions to agricultural biotechnology, research systems strengthening, and innovation ecosystem development.
